Some Quick Scrapbooking Tips to Stick on the Wall in Your (Lin)Crafty Corner of the World

  • Wet Ones baby wipes are perfect for cleaning rubber and acrylic stamps
  • Older stickers and die cuts that you probably won’t use again make great stencils. Just lightly apply a repositionable adhesive to the back of each die cut. Then ink, paint or spray away over them and then remove for dramatic effect.
  • Secure embellishments in odd numbers like threes and fives for more visual impact and something different. It is funny how the human mind visualises in evens over and over again!
  • No more e’s in your letter sticker or chipboard stashes? Try an upside down 3. In the same way, make a lower case g into a y and an h, and an ampersand (&) into an S. It all depends on the font, so spend some time thinking about the improvisation possibilities.
  • Be more flexible and experiment using themed embellishments on unrelated projects. Stickers from a wedding sheet on a layout about dinner parties could work. Think outside the square to get the most value out of your purchases.
  • Sand stickers for a textured vintage look. Rub with sand paper gives them a completely different feel.
  • Take five unused items from your crafty corner and challenge yourself to use them on a quick page. A great brain exercise!
