#1177 - Lima Striped Scarf

You'll need:

  • 4mm knitting needles
  • 3 x 50g balls of Lima Alpaca Blend by Lincraft - Main Colour (MC)
  • 2 x 50g balls of Lima Alpaca Blend by Lincraft - Contrast Colour (CC)
  • Wool needle to sew in the ends.


  • Make this scarf to match the beanie featured in project #1167.


    Note: The illustrated example uses Pewter as the MC and Tomato as the CC. The striped section of the scarf is knitted in stocking stitch and hence will curl at the edges. This is an intentional design feature.

    Tension: 27 rows, 21 stitches 10cm x 10cm
    Using MC, cast on 48 sts..
    Row 1: *K2, P2, repeat from * to end. Next and following rows: Repeat row 1 until work measures 6cm. Change to CC.
    Next row: Knit.
    Next row: Purl. Do not break off yarn. This end will be picked up two rows later.
    Next row: change to MC. Knit.
    Next row: Purl. Do not break off yarn. This end will be picked up two rows later. These last four rows form the stripe pattern. Continue this pattern, changing colour every two rows until work measures 180cm (or desired length), finishing on a CC purl row.. Change to MC. Next row: Knit.
    Next row: *P2, K2, repeat from * to end.
    Next and following rows: Repeat previous row until this double rib MC section measures 6cm. Cast off in rib (P2, K2).
    Finishing: Sew in ends.
