MEASUREMENTS:
Approx 52cm - to make larger continue on for 3 more rounds after 10th round.

CROCHET HOOK:
A 4.00mm crochet hook.

REQUIREMENTS:
Wool needle for sewing up.

TENSION:
Tension is not important for this project.

SPECIAL ABBREVIATION:
Trf (treble front): Yarn over, insert the hook from front to back and out to the front again around the post of the tr of the row below, hook yarn and pull up a loop (3 loops on hook), (yarn over and draw through loops) two times.

BERET:
Using a 4.00mm hook, make 5 ch, slst in the first ch to form a ring. 
1st round: Ch 3, 11 tr in ring. End with a slst to top of ch 3 (12 tr made). 
2nd round: Ch 3, work trf around post of ch 3 of rnd below, *tr in next space and work trf around next tr (increase made) repeat from * around, end slst to top of ch 3 (24 sts, 1 tr and 12 trf). 
3rd round: Ch 3, tr in next space and work trf around post of next tr * [tr in next tr], tr in next space and work trf around post of next tr. Repeat from * around, end slst to top of ch 3 (36 sts). 
4th round: Ch 3, tr in next tr, tr in next space and work trf around post of next tr, * tr in each of next 2 tr, tr in next space and work trf around post of next tr. Repeat from * around, end slst to top of ch 3 (48 sts). 
5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th & 10th rounds: Repeat round 3, increasing one stitch between trf each row ( see [ ] of round 3 until there are 9 sts between each post. 
To make beret larger add more rounds here. 
11th round: slst into next tr. Ch 3, Skip next tr, tr in next 7 tr, trf around next tr. * skip next tr, tr in next 8 tr, trf around trf from row below* Repeat between *'s around. Join with a slst to the top of ch 3 ( 8 sts between trf posts). 
12th round: Repeat round 11 (7 sts between each post) 
13th round: Repeat round 11 (6 sts between each post) 
14th round: Do not decrease. Ch 3, tr in next 5 tr. Work trf around the next tr, *skip next tr, tr in next 5 tr, work trf around next tr*. Repeat between*'s around. Join with a slst in the top of ch 3. 
15th round: Ch 3, tr in next 4 tr, work trf around the next tr, * tr in next 5 tr, work trf around next tr*. Repeat between *'s around. Join with a slst in the top of ch 3. 
16th & 17th rounds: dc around.
Fasten off. 

FLOWER:
Make 4 ch slst to form a ring.
1st round: 11 dc into ring, sl st to first ch 
2nd round: 4 ch, miss 1 dc,* sl st in next dc (1dc, 2tr, 1dtr, 2 tr, 1dc) into next ch.* Repeat from * to end, sl st to first of 4 ch. 
Fasten off.

FINISHING:
Sew Flower to side front of beret. Sew in loose ends.
