INSTRUCTIONS 3 COLOUR TEAM MITTS (MAKE 2) Using 5mm needles and C1, cast on 26 (34) sts loosely. 1st row – K2, * P2, K2, repeat from * to end. 2nd row – P2, * K2, P2, repeat from * to end. Last 2 rows form rib. Work a further 2 (4) rows rib. Change to C2 and work 4 (6) rows rib … 8 (12) rows rib in all. Change to C2 and work 4 (6) rows stocking st. Break off C2. Change to C1 and work 3 (5) rows stocking st. Next row (wrong side) – Cast off 4 sts, P18 (26) including st already on righthand needle after casting off, cast off remaining 4 sts. Fasten off, leaving a long end for sewing up. SHAPE THUMBHOLE – With right side facing and using 5mm needles, join C2 to remaining 18 (26) sts, cast on 4 sts and work as follows – K2, P2, knit to end … 22 (30) sts. 2nd row – Cast on 4 sts, then P2, * K2, P2, repeat from * to end … 26 (34) sts. Work 2 (4) rows rib (beginning with a 1st row). Change to C1 and work 4 (6) rows rib. Cast off loosely in rib. TO MAKE UP Note – We recommend using mattress stitch to sew up your mitts. DO NOT PRESS. Join side edges from cast on to thumbhole, matching stripes, then join from thumbhole to cast off, matching stripes.
