Using 3.5 mm needles CO 44-46-48-50 sts. Work in 2/2 rib for 11 cm (41⁄4 in) [32 rows] increasing 32- 32-34-36 sts evenly across final row.
On the 76-78-82-86 sts obtained cont to foll the Chart for the size being works (= 112-116- 122-126 sts) until work measures 48 cm (19 in) [136 rows] total.

Top of sleeve:
Cast off at the beg of every row as foll: 6 sts 8 times, 7 sts 4 times & the rem 36-40-46-50 sts.

 

FRONT BORDERS (2):

Using 3.5 mm needles cast on 19 sts. Work in 1/1 rib starting & ending with k2.


When work measures 51-53-55-57 cm (20-21-22- 221⁄2 in) cast off all sts.

NECKBAND:
Using 3.5 mm needles CO 116-120-124-128 sts. Work in 2/2 rib starting & ending with k3 until work measures 5 cm (2 in) [14 rows] total, then leave on a spare needle.

 

TO MAKE UP:
Join shoulder seams tightening whilst joining to obtain the shape of the diagram.
On each front, let the first 10 rows of St st roll over, hold the roll in place with a stitch using sewing needle & thread at the front centre edge. Place the first 2 sts of a border over the first 2 sts of the front (neck edge), then backstitch the border in place maintaining the roll at the bottom.
Graft the neckband around the neck edge (see Grafting a Border instructions).
Sew the top of the sleeves into the armhole. Sew side & sleeve seams.
Sew the press studs along the fronts (from the bottom to the top: 3 x 21 mm, then 2 x 25 mm):
- The 1st (21 mm) 3 cm (11⁄4 in) from the base,

- The 2nd (25 mm) in the center of the neckband,
- The others at regular spacings.
