Brighten up your morning coffee with these cute Hand drawn mugs! Better yet this project is completely customisable to your own tastes! Get creative and design a cute mug that shows your personality or one as a gift for a friend or colleague!
You can transform any old mug with DecoColor Opaque Paint markers. These markers are available in a great range of colours, and can be baked in the oven to make the paint even stronger.
You’ll need a mug – give it a wash & dry before you start to remove any dirt or film that may be present, and a heap of DecoColour Opaque paint markers.
It truly is as easy as just drawing, or writing whatever you want and letting it dry. It’s hardly worth a tutorial, but while we are chatting, I reckon this is a great gift idea! A personalised mug can be filled to make it even more special. A mini sewing kit in a mug would be fantastic for a new sewer.
And you don’t even need great drawing skills. Long dots as raindrops around a kids drawing is a bit of fun!
The markers are permanent, but to make your artwork stronger, put the mug in a cold oven and turn it up to 150 degrees. Let the oven warm up and the paint bake for 30 minutes, then turn the oven off and let the mugs cool in the oven. Depending on the type of mug you have drawn on, they may be dishwasher safe, but you might like to do a full test run with a dot on the bottom of a mug before you load your precious artwork in. If in doubt, hand wash only.
