Open your heart & fill your hands
Lincraft is proud to be associated again with KOGO in 2016
So far, Kogo has distributed over 160,000 warm winter woollies to the most vulnerable in our community – the homeless, refugees, children who are at risk, remote indigenous communities, women in refuges and families who are struggling to make ends meet. This is achieved via a network of over 180 different Public Benevolent Institutions, charities and government agencies who enable them to identify those in need and distribute appropriate items.
As a member of the Lincraft community, we are asking YOU to join the cause. To participate, simply make an item and drop it off at a Lincraft store (see drop off points here) and we will send it on to Kogo. The most needed items are hats and scarves, but you can knit garments, baby items or toys. If you can knit (or crochet) it, they’ll take it!
We have a number of free projects available for download from the Lincraft website that would be perfect for donating to KOGO.
If you are a crochet superstar you might like to try our Aviator cap. Knitting legends might like to whip up a standard or slouchy beanie or a hooded scarf. Mittens are a quick and satisfying make too, so see our great free project below. All of these projects are worked in 8 ply yarn, so would be perfect with our Superwash, Cosy Wool or DK yarns and most are available in family sizings, so you can grab a few balls online or instore and get making right away, and because these are the kinds of projects that use less than full balls, you can stripe away with the leftovers and make some really beautiful projects!
