A mixture of buttons in a similar colour range (different sizes and types) A container to hold the buttons Approx 1.5mt - 2mt length of matching coloured cotton yarn or stranded cotton depending on length of necklace required. Chenille needle that fits through a button hole easily.

Thread the needle with the thread and running the needle from the back of the button through to the front and back through to the back again, for buttons with holes, or just through for shank buttons. Make sure each button is pushed down quite firmly so that it sits tightly on the back of the previous one. Continue mixing the button sizes and shapes along until the necklace reaches the desired length (make sure you can put it over your head as there is no clasp). Tie the two ends together tightly and place a dob of nail polish or glue on the knot, just to make sure that it doesn't come undone.
