Fabric requirements will vary depending on the size of the chairs to be covered. Tape Measure Scissors Thread to match Sewing Machine

Note: Measure your chair as in diagram 1& add 3cm to all measurements to allow for ease of fitting and seam allowance (don't forget to allow for thick sides and padding) Multiply fabric required by the number of chairs to be covered. Once your chair has been measured as in diagram 1, you will need separate pieces for the following sections: seat back (seat and front measured as one), back of chair & side of chair. Make sure that the sides of the back are included in the measurements. Cut the fabric pieces, one for the back, one for the front and two side pieces. See Diagram 2 & 3 With right sides of the fabric facing, pin the two sides to the base of the back piece one on each side. Stitch in place leaving 1.5cm open at the top. With the right sides of the fabric facing, attach the front by pinning across the top then down the side of the back, across the top of the sides to form the seat and down the front of the sides. Stitch in place and repeat for the other side. See Diagram 4 Square off the top corners by folder the corner into a point with the seam in the centre, then stitch across the top the same distance as the depth of the chair. See Diagram 5 Place the cover over the chair and pin the hem at the required distance from the floor, leaving 1.5cm at the back. Press over 5mm and then again 1cm, pin, press & stitch.
