Gallery canvas – any size we used 14” x 10” [35 cm x 25 cm] Reeves acrylic paint – colour of choice and white, we used deep Madder and Titanium White Paint brush/sponge Skewer and plastic plate Pencil

Step 1: Divide canvas into the equal sections to match number of shades to be painted.

Step 2: We decided on 5 shades so divided this canvas size into 7cm sections and lightly marked them with pencil.

Step 3: Starting with the darkest shade paint/dab circles randomly in the bottom section. Allow to dry.

Step 4: Make a lighter shade than the darkest. Mix using a skewer on a plastic plate the coloured paint with a little of the white. Mix well and paint/dab circles randomly in the next section. Allow to dry.

Step 5: Make a lighter shade than the previous shade. Mix using a skewer on a plastic plate the equal amounts of the coloured paint and white. Mix well and paint/dab circles randomly in the next section. Allow to dry.

Step 6: Make a lighter shade than the previous shade. Mix using a skewer on a plastic plate the white paint with a bit of the coloured. Mix well and paint/dab circles randomly in the next section. Allow to dry.

Step 7: Make a lighter shade than the previous shade. Mix using a skewer on a plastic plate the white paint with a bit of the coloured. Mix well and paint/dab circles in the next section. Allow to dry. Ensure all sides are painted as each section is completed.
