Reeves Gallery Deep Edge Canvas (12 x 12") Liquitex Basics Acrylic Colours Liquitex Acrylic Mediums Blended Fibres Ceramic Stucco Gloss Medium & Varnish Matt Gel (optional) Gloss Gel (optional) Brushes and Palette Knives Containers

Step 1: Take a Reeves Gallery Deep Edge Canvas (12 x 12”). You could use more than one canvas to create a larger artwork.

Step 2: Choose three Liquitex Basics Acrylic Colours. (In the workshop I will help you with your colour choices).

Step 3: Apply one of the colour with Matt or Gloss Gel Medium to the canvas and cover. Don’t forget the sides!

Step 4: In a container, prepare one tablespoon of Liquitex Basics Acrylic Colour with one cup of Liquitex Ceramic Stucco or Blended Fibres Effects Medium. Prepare remaining two mixtures of colour in separate containers. Mix the colour and Effects Medium by hand with a palette knife.

Step 5: Using a palette knife, apply the mixture directly onto the canvas. Allow to dry for at least 24 hours.

TIPS & TECHNIQUES FOR USING POURING MEDIUM Texture Gels contain particles that produce a variety of unique textural and dimensional effects. Texture Mediums can be used with Liquitex Acrylic Colours, other mediums or used on their own. Ceramic Stucco is a favourite effect of many artists when they are looking for an Italian Fresco like surface. It dries to a light grey matte stucco finish. Blended Fibres is a thick opaque gel that, when dry, will give the effect of flexible fibres with a matt sheen. It holds unusual peaks and knife strokes when mixed with colour. It can tend to have the effect of pieces of torn fabric. You can mix any texture gel together to create unique effects.
