 Spaghetti yarn - red  Pin / corkboard  Scissors  Gutermann thread - red 364  Polyester thread - any colour [we used white to allow easy removal if necessary]  Template


Step 1: Cut strips – 80, 20 cm strips and 80, 25 cm strips.

Step 2: Using pins and corkboard pin 20, 25 cm strips.

Step 3: Weave 20, 20 cm strips to create a woven panel.

Step 4: Hand sew panel [vertical and horizontal strips together] to enable removal of pins.

Step 5: Pin template on panel.

Step 6: Machine sew shape of template. Repeat steps 1-6 to create four panels.

Step 7: Measure the middle of the panel. Sew a seam on either side of the middle of the panel.

Step 8: Cut panel in half. Repeat step 7-8 on a second panel [total of 4 halves].

Step 9: Cut 20 cm piece and pin to straight side of cut panel. Sew piece to panel.

Step 10: Fold piece over and sew again. This acts are binding. Repeat binding to 3 other halves.

Step 11: Trim excess and position 2 halves on top the full panel. Wrong sides together.

Step 12: Loosely stitch in place all 3 panels. Cut 90 cm piece and sew binding as described in step 9 and 10. Trim excess [panel and binding piece] before sewing the second time.
